25 November 2014 (Maidenhead, UK) – CROS NT today announced that it will sponsor the World Cancer Research Fund as its “CROS in the Community” project throughout 2015. This initiative reflects CROS NT’s goal to contribute to countries where it operates, as well as to inspire others in the sector to donate their resources to others in need.
The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) focuses on preventative cancer solutions by exploring the link between diet, weight, physical activity and cancer, and WCRF operates on an international level. As CROS NT works in clinical trials and often performs data analysis for oncology trials, the company wanted to commit to an organization that makes a positive impact in this area.
CROS NT is making both a company-wide and individual effort to raise funds and awareness for WCRF. In addition to promoting the cause at industry conferences throughout 2015, employees are raising awareness by participating in running events.
On 23rd November, Business Development & Marketing Associate, Mary Wieder, who is currently based in Australia, raised individual donations for the organization participating in at the Deepwater Point 15K in Perth, Western Australia.
CROS NT CEO, Andrew MacGarvey, is participating in the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon in April and running for WCRF.
MacGarvey commented, “this upcoming year, CROS NT is fully committed to raising awareness and funds for the World Cancer Research Fund. This organization is unique in that it focuses on connecting lifestyle to cancer with a goal of eliminating preventable cancer through global research. On a company level, we often work in oncology trials, and individually most of us know someone affected by cancer, so this is a way for CROS NT and its employees worldwide to contribute to cancer research through our industry knowledge or just by being active”.
CROS NT’s first exhibiting event is the Outsourcing in Clinical Trials Europe conference in Dusseldorf, Germany in May 2015 where the company is pledging to donate €3 for every business card collected to WCRF.
