CROS NT to Sponsor World Cancer Research Fund Throughout 2016

CROS NT is partnering with the charity and appointing a Corporate Social Responsibility Manager through the company’s “CROS in the Community” initiative.

CROS NT and WCRF Verona, Italy (23 February 2016) – CROS NT today announced a collaborative partnership with World Cancer Research Fund, naming the organization as its 2016 sponsored charity. The collaboration falls under CROS NT’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, and the company has pledged to support the charity’s 25th anniversary campaign to raise funds and awareness for cancer prevention research.

World Cancer Research Fund champions the latest and most authoritative scientific research from around the world on cancer prevention through diet, weight and physical activity, helping people make informed lifestyle choices to reduce their cancer risk. Being a Contract Research Organization (CRO) with a niche in clinical data services for clinical trials, CROS NT has been involved in numerous oncology trials for cancer research by providing statistical analysis and reporting services.

In 2013, CROS NT created the “CROS in the Community” initiative to positively contribute and impact communities in which it works as well as inspire others to do the same.

In 2016, CROS NT has expanded its community efforts by appointing Elena Ledri to the role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager to follow all of its charitable initiatives. CROS NT is implementing fundraising efforts at all of its industry events this year, establishing collaborations with other life science companies and coordinating individual employee fundraising efforts. In 2016, CROS NT is reinstating its “Runners in Life Sciences” program by organizing 5K fundraising races at some of the pharmaceutical industry’s largest events.

CROS NT CEO Andrew MacGarvey said: “As a global company involved in clinical trials, especially in the field of oncology, CROS NT chose to support World Cancer Research Fund as it specifically looks at the link between lifestyle and cancer. Besides our work in the field of oncology, most of our employees know someone in their personal lives affected by cancer and are passionate about the cause. Many of our employees have been eager to get involved. Since we have offices globally, this is one activity all of our branches can participate in together. We’ve seen our employees challenge themselves and each other in support of the charity’s mission”.

Paul Fretwell, World Cancer Research Fund’s Head of Fundraising, said: “We’re delighted to have CROS NT’s support as we celebrate such an important milestone, and we wish everyone there lots of luck in their fundraising over the coming months. When companies team up with us, they help to fund our vital cancer prevention work and they also find that the partnership has a positive impact on the lives of their employees.”

All of CROS NT’s charitable efforts are documented on the company’s JustGiving page.
